More about shochu & our suppliers, worldwide.

What is shochu, and how can I get it?

Well, shochu is a loose term which covers a multitude of liquors, and the process of making shochu is similar to that of the other famous Japanese liquor – sake – which is often called 'Nihon shu' by Japanese people.

But sweet potato shochu originated in Kyushu, the most southerly of the four main islands of Japan, and in our opinion, it's here that shochu is made and drunk with the greatest care and pride.

In recent years, an upsurge in drinking shochu has occurred among women, mainly due to its possible health-giving effects.

If you would like to try this classic, Japanese
drink, please contact our supplier, or come to Kyushu.
